After Dark 2026: A Year of Hibernation and Discernment
For many years, After Dark at All Saints has been a gift to our church and to the wider Outer Banks community. Through classes, conversations, and shared learning, people have discovered new skills, new friendships, and new connections with our parish.
In recent weeks, our parish leadership and the After Dark planning team have been in conversation about the 2026 season. After prayerful discussion, we have decided that After Dark will enter a “hibernation” year in 2026. We are not cancelling the program. Instead, we are choosing to pause for one season so that our parish can listen for how the Holy Spirit may be calling others to share in the leadership of After Dark in the years to come.
During this year of hibernation, we will be:
- Praying and discerning the future shape of After Dark.
- Listening for new gifts and leaders who may feel called to help guide the program.
- Reviewing what has worked well in the past and imagining how After Dark can continue to serve our community in fresh and faithful ways.
We invite your prayers for all who have helped make After Dark possible through the years. We also invite you to begin praying about your own sense of call. If you feel a nudge to help with the visioning, planning, or leadership of After Dark for 2027 and beyond, please contact the church office so that your interest can be shared with the planning team.
Thank you for your understanding and your shared hope for the future of this ministry. We trust that God is at work in this pause and that, in due time, After Dark will emerge from hibernation renewed and ready for a new season of learning and hospitality.
