ASHES TO ALLELUIAS

Wednesday Evenings in Lent

Lent invites us to slow down and make space for God’s presence in real life. On Wednesday nights, join us for a five-week series introducing simple Christian spiritual practices that help us listen, pray, and live with greater intention. Each session is designed for beginners and longtime pray-ers alike, and includes a brief teaching, a guided experience of the practice, and a simple take-home invitation for the week ahead.

We will start serving supper at 5:30; sessions begin at 6:15 p.m. in the Gathering Space.

Wednesday Evening Events

February 25: Breath Prayer + Examen - A gentle way to pray with the body and to review the day with God, noticing where grace met you and what you’re ready to release.

March 4:  Lectio Divina (Praying with Scripture) - A slow, prayerful way of reading the Gospel that helps us listen for the Word that is meant for us, here and now.

March 11: Make + Pray with Anglican Prayer Beads - We’ll make a simple set of prayer beads and learn an easy pattern of prayer you can use anywhere, especially when you don’t have words.

March 18: Contemplative Prayer - An introduction to silent prayer as consent to God’s presence and action, learning how to return gently when the mind wanders.

March 25: A Rule of Life (and commissioning) - A practical, life-giving way to shape a sustainable rhythm of prayer, Scripture, service, and rest that can carry you beyond Lent.

Call the office to be added to the list or sign up via the link in our weekly email.

Your Generosity Makes a Difference

All Saints Episcopal Church seeks to build community in the generous spirit of the Good News of Christ Risen and to expand the capacity of the Episcopal Church to reach those who do not know the reconciling love of God in Christ Jesus. As the mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ, All Saints Episcopal Church aims to worship God and to reach out and nurture hope by seeking and serving the saints of God.
